Couple Receives "Extra Credit" for Establishment of Undergraduate Research Endowment

Couple Receives

Education has always been and continues to be a defining force in the lives of Raymond (Red) '57 BS, '68 MS, and his wife, Suzanne, Adams. Education recently played an even more important role in their retirement life through their establishment of "The Raymond and Suzanne Adams Undergraduate Research Endowment."

The two are retired public school teachers who reside in New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania. The Adams Undergraduate Research Endowment was established when the couple named the Shippensburg University Foundation as the beneficiary of one of their life insurance policies. Their Endowment will support students in Shippensburg University's College of Education and Human Services.

"We saw a unique opportunity to give back to undergraduate students who wish to hone their research skills through the Joint Undergraduate Student/Faculty Research Program at Shippensburg University," says Red.

"Education has always been our career focus and we decided to continue that focus by financially supporting Shippensburg students through establishing the Adams Endowment for educational research," says Sue.

Through the establishment of research endowments like Red and Sue's, Shippensburg University students benefit from a different learning experience requiring critical thinking ,data analysis and presentation skills among other things - all invaluable assets for graduate school and future careers. To learn how you too could give Shippensburg University students research opportunities they may never have dreamed possible, contact the Shippensburg University Foundation at 717-477-1377.
